Book Description and Chapter Outline

Dreams in the Desert is about journeying through Spiritual dryness and darkness.  It is about a journey from a simple faith to a more rich and deep faith.  It is about finding an inward path to greater awareness and consciousness through dream analysis and Christian Scriptural reflection.  This Spiritual memoir chronicles a personal inner struggle and the important lessons learned during that time.  It is a book to help others learn to go deeper by pondering how the story may relate to their own unique path.  Each chapter includes a Biblical passage, actual personal dream material, insight, and reflection questions.  Remember, external life informs our inner journey, while inner awareness impacts our unique external life. Chapter 3:  Nourished by Living Water

Chapter Three:  Nourished by Living Water So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.  Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.  When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”  (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)  The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)  Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”  “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”  Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks t

Chapter 5:  The Brokenness Within

Chapter Five:  The Brokenness Within One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God.  He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets.  He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.  When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”  Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.  So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.  When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a si
